Tennessee Softball Releases 2023 Schedule

Knoxville, Tenn. — As the Southeastern Conference unveils the league roster for the 2023 softball season on Thursday afternoon, the Tennessee head coach Weekly Karen announced the full Lady Vols schedule for the upcoming campaign.

Tennessee’s 2023 regular season schedule includes two home tournaments, three road tournaments, four midweek contests and eight SEC weekend series. Playing hours for UT’s home program and television assignments for the spring will be announced at a later date.

The Lady Vols will spend February on the road, opening the season with three straight tournaments away from Knoxville. The campaign begins February 10-12 in Clearwater, Florida with the NFCA Leadoff Classic, where UT will face Howard, Illinois, South Alabama, Texas and Northwestern.

Tennessee will head south of the border the following weekend for the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, to be held Feb. 16-19 at Nancy Almaraz Stadium in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The dates and times for the PVCC will be announced at a later date, with Lady Vols set to face Sacramento State, Southern Illinois, Liberty and Cal State Fullerton at the event.

UT will return to the Sunshine State to wrap up February at the USF Tournament in Tampa, Fla., which runs Feb. 24-26. Opponents in Tampa include Michigan State, USF, Clemson and UIC.

The Lady Vols will host a pair of home tournaments this spring, starting the weekend of March 3-5 as App State, Belmont and Jacksonville State travel to Rocky Top for the Tennessee Classic to open the home roster. UT is also set to host a two-day, three-team event on April 6-7 with Baylor and Mercer, dubbed the Tennessee Invitational.

After hosting the Tennessee Classic, the Lady Vols will host Tennessee Tech at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium on Tuesday, March 8 for their first midweek contest of the season. A week later, UT will travel to Columbia, Tennessee, to meet Austin Peay in the Midstate Classic.

Tennessee will face its last in-state opponent on Tuesday, March 28, when ETSU visits Rocky Top. The Lady Vols wrap up midweek action on Tuesday, April 11 with a trip to Blacksburg, Va. to take on defending ACC regular season champion Virginia Tech.

The Lady Vols will play eight three-game SEC series, including four at home and four on the road. Tennessee will host Ole Miss (March 10-12), Alabama (March 24-26), Florida (April 21-23) and South Carolina (May 5-7) and travel to LSU (17-19 March), Texas A&M (March 31 – April 2), Kentucky (April 14-16), and Arkansas (April 28-30).

The 2023 SEC Tournament will take place in Fayetteville, Arkansas, May 9-13.
