About the role

As the new principal of the school, you will have full responsibility for the resource allocation model and the evolution of the school structure. You will facilitate a dynamic and forward-looking environment to develop and implement the school’s academic and strategic plans, leading and supporting academic staff to achieve the highest standards in research, teaching and professional conduct.

Reflecting our continued investment in the best academic staff and facilities, our successful research programs are underpinned by our strong collaborative ties with industrial partners and our position as a leading research center in areas such as satellites space, nanotechnology and biomedical engineering.

Teaching is organized by discipline into two departments offering dynamic and collaborative environments where innovative research is undertaken, and the innovators of tomorrow are nurtured through professionally accredited undergraduate and master’s degree programs.

The school currently employs around 270 staff members, houses over 1000 UG and MSc students and over 200 PhD and PhD students.

The directorship is initially for five years, after which the holder of the position will resume his duties as a professor.

About you

You will be a strategic and forward-looking academic leader with an outstanding international reputation and an exceptional record in research and innovation.

You will be a collaborative innovator with an entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to capture the imagination of external partners and spot cross-disciplinary opportunities.

Along with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary higher education, you will bring extensive experience in visible and inclusive senior management, as well as effective management of people and resources.

A proven track record of ensuring and delivering high-quality research performance and an excellent student experience is essential, as is strong alignment with the University’s mission, vision and values.
