Duke is 22nd in the latest LEARFIELD Director’s Cup standings

DURHAM –Duke Athletics currently ranks 22nd in the latest LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup rankings, released Thursday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

The Blue Devils jumped 24 places in the fall standings with a total of 430.50 points. Duke received points in men’s basketball (83), men’s and women’s fencing (60), women’s swimming and diving (50), women’s indoor track and field (53.5), men’s indoor track and field (22.5) and in wrestling (24.5).

Duke is among six ACC schools ranked in the top 25, joining Notre Dame (2nd), North Carolina (7th), NC State (8th), Virginia Tech (19th) and Louisville (20th). Michigan leads the overall standings with 761.00 points.

LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup standings that include spring sports will be announced June 16, with the final standings expected to be released July 1 or July 5, following the College World Series.

The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s result at the NCAA Championships.
