As the University continues to innovate in its pursuit of excellence, we are now looking for an outstanding Director of External Relations. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Vice-Chancellor, the new incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing the University’s external relations strategy. This includes overseeing a wide range of key functional areas – recruitment and admissions, marketing, communications, alumni and development, and international. We have recently completed the development of our ambitious Road to 2030 vision and strategy and this position will be absolutely key to success. You will therefore play a vital role in building the profile and reputation of the University to help deliver our vision and ambitious program over the next decade.

The successful candidate will bring proven experience in strategic management and leadership acquired either in higher education or in sectors with high intellectual capital. You will have substantial experience working in a dispersed and complex organizational structure where authority derives from influence and persuasion and possess the communication and interpersonal skills required to rapidly build social capital in our academic and professional service communities . Experience in developing successful integrated strategies in one or more of the areas under this assignment will be essential, as will an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset, underpinned by strong business acumen. A strategic thinker, with a high degree of integrity and excellent judgment, you will also have a genuine commitment to the University’s mission and ethics.
