Analytics and AI Developer Job with RMIT UNIVERSITY

  • Full-time, fixed-term position until December 2022, in first instance
  • HEW salary level 8 + 17% superannuation and flexible working arrangements
  • Based on the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based on other University campuses

About you

As an Analytics and AI Developer, you will support the completion of research and development of the various analytics and AI projects across the College of Business & Law. You will be located within the RMIT Enterprise AI and Data Analytics Hub, a newly created entity and research group that brings together researchers from across the College to address AI analytics and research from a business perspective. As such, you can expect to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders and participate in the design of analytics and AI solutions that require a combination of theories, frameworks, processes and any other business-focused considerations in delivering the solutions. .

To be successful in this position, you will need to:

  • Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science or relevant discipline.
  • Experience with data management, including the use of tools such as SQL and ETL tools.
  • Experience developing visualizations, such as Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a programming language, such as R or Python, including an up-to-date understanding of relevant analytics, machine learning, and AI packages and libraries.
  • Experience with version control software, such as Github.
  • Some experience in software development, for example, in web or application development, which uses AI models and analytics will be highly desirable
  • Strong analytical mind and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including the ability to interact with software developers to deliver results as part of a solution.
  • Demonstrated attitude towards continuous learning and development.

About the hub

The Enterprise AI and Data Analytics Hub is a newly created research structure within the College of Business & Law. The Hub’s mission is to undertake research in analytics and AI, ensure effective translation of these technologies into various business problems, and provide tailored training in analytics and artificial intelligence. for industry. The Hub will bring together capabilities from across the College, providing companies with a one-stop-shop for business savvy-based AI and analytics capabilities, including areas such as accounting and finance, marketing , human resources management, supply chain, etc. Collectively, our work will advance the communities we serve in realizing a thriving digital economy over the next decade.

As a Hub staff member, you will have the opportunity to work as a team with a range of stakeholders and issues, including opportunities to contribute to the College’s strategic plans and vision. Growing with the Hub, your role will have a voice in the directions and projects to be pursued, giving you the satisfaction of taking ownership of the Hub’s development.
